GIMS, whose real name is Gandhi Djuna, is a highly popular Congolese-French singer, rapper, composer, and producer known for his eclectic blend of French rap, French R&B, French pop, pop urbaine, hip hop, afropop, ndombolo, and afrobeats. He first rose to fame as a member of the influential hip-hop group Sexion d'Assaut before embarking on a hugely successful solo career in 2013 with his debut album "Subliminal." Throughout his career, GIMS has sold over 5 million records, including 3 million albums, captivating audiences with his catchy melodies and poignant lyrics. In his latest endeavors, GIMS has remained very active. His EP "Le Nord se souvient," initially released digitally in September 2024, topped album sales in France for the first half of 2025 and surpassed 500,000 units sold by September 2025. This EP and its single "Ninao" were also pre-selected for the Grammy Awards 2026. He released the singles "Spider" and "Sois pas timide" in Summer 2024, followed by a new track "Vent du Nord" on September 6, 2024. GIMS is also set to release a new song, "Sentimental," on October 10, 2025, which is a modern take on Alain Souchon's classic "Foule Sentimentale." On the performance front, GIMS made an appearance at the Star Academy season 12 on December 13, 2024. He is currently on his "Last Winter Tour," which has already sold over 700,000 tickets, with additional dates scheduled in November and December 2025, including multiple shows at Paris La Défense Arena. Beyond music, GIMS expanded into business in June 2024 by launching a 100 million euro luxury real estate project in Marrakech called "Sunset Village Private Residence," with high-end villas expected for delivery from 2026 onwards. He also has a forthcoming collaboration with Jul on a duo titled "Air Force Blanche."
