L'Impératrice is a Parisian band known for its blend of French indie pop, French house, and French pop, often characterized by a chic, groovy, and danceable sound. The group recently released their third studio album, "Pulsar," on June 7, 2024, via Microqlima. This album features guest vocalists for the first time, including Maggie Rogers, Erick the Architect, and Fabiana Martone. "Pulsar" has been described as a bold and innovative return for the band, showcasing their evolution while retaining their core identity, and it notably moves between hip-hop, kosmische, and pop influences in addition to their French house sound. The release of "Pulsar" was preceded by singles such as "Me Da Igual," "Love From The Other Side," and "Danza Marilù". The band also released "Any Way," featuring Maggie Rogers, as a single from the album. Following the release of "Pulsar," the band's original lead vocalist, Flore Benguigui, announced her departure in late May 2024, citing mental health and alleged mistreatment as her reasons. French artist Louve was subsequently revealed as the new vocalist for L'Impératrice. L'Impératrice has been actively touring to support "Pulsar," with a schedule that includes dates in both Europe and North America throughout 2024 and extending into 2025. They also performed at Coachella in April 2024.
