Throes is a crushing Boise, Idaho-based band formed in 2014 that blends sludge metal, metallic hardcore, and doom-steeped aggression. Known for their relentless heaviness and visceral live performances, the band built a strong underground following with their 2019 debut full-length, *In the Hands of an Angry God*. Continuing to explore bleak emotional landscapes and dissonant, punishing sonic intensity, Throes released their sophomore album, *The Colorless Light of Emptiness*, via Church Road Records, further solidifying their reputation for unsparing and suffocating extreme music.
