Foxtide is a San Diego-based indie rock band known for blending elements of surf rock, jazz, psychedelia, and alternative pop, often characterized by an aloof early 2000s rock sensibility with modern pop experimentation. Comprising Elijah Gibbins-Croft (vocals, guitar), Oey James (bass), Ian Robles (drums), and Dom Friedly (guitar, synths), the group originated from garage jam sessions and a vibrant DIY house show scene. In recent endeavors, Foxtide released their second full-length album, "Entropy," on April 17, 2026, through Position Music. The album's release was preceded by the single "Wait it Out" on March 25, 2026, and an official music video for "Heart in the Ground" was also released on the album's launch day. The band has embarked on the "Entropy Tour" following the album's release, with several dates in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Brooklyn quickly selling out, prompting additional shows. They are also scheduled to perform at Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City. Additionally, Foxtide launched a "Make Him Run" campaign, pledging that bassist Oey James will run a marathon in a Canadian tuxedo while holding his bass if "Entropy" achieves over 10,000 pre-saves. The band's recent releases have gained significant attention, including a cover feature on Fashionably Early's playlist and editorial placements on Spotify's 'All New Rock' and Apple's 'New In Rock' and 'New In Alternative'.
