About the event

Indie

Rising indie star Thala heads to the UK and makes a stop at Hare & Hounds 2, Birmingham on Monday 6th October.

Prepare for a sonic storm like no other: Avalanche, the highly anticipated third album from indie rock powerhouse Thala, released February 14th, igniting a wave of raw emotion and unfiltered truth. Known for her hauntingly beautiful melodies and searing lyrical honesty, Thala has toured with some of the most exciting names in Indie music, including Current Joys, Snail Mail, and even opened for the iconic Paolo Nutini. With Avalanche, she cements herself as one of the most authentic and essential voices of her generation.

Described as “an ode to the meltdown,” Avalanche confronts the chaos and catharsis of emotional manipulation, gaslighting, and the universal yearning for freedom. It’s an album that refuses to shy away from the messy, complicated, and deeply human experience of being caged by others’ expectations and breaking free to reclaim your power.

“This record is about being unapologetically honest,” says Thala. “It’s for anyone who’s ever felt trapped, silenced, or manipulated. This is about the moments when you find your strength in the chaos.”

The release of Avalanche on Valentine’s Day couldn’t be more poetic. While the world celebrates love, Thala offers a brutally honest counterpoint—a fearless exploration of the emotional maelstrom that lies beneath surface-level smiles.

With Avalanche, Thala isn’t just releasing an album—she’s unleashing an emotional movement. Don’t miss what promises to be one of the most talked-about records of the year.

About the venue

Hare & Hounds - Venue Two

Situated in the South Birmingham suburb of Kings Heath, the Hare & Hounds has been around since 1820, but has stood in its present form since 1907. This is a major contributing factor to its current Grade II listed status, along with the beautiful and unique Art Nouveau tiles that line the entry hall and staircase. Although playing host to local Birmingham legends UB40's first ever gig in 1979, it is only since 2007 that it's really established itself as one of the most important and influential music venues in the country, playing a vital part in nurturing the city's vibrant music and creative community. The pub boasts two downstairs bars which host two weekly pub quizzes, the Blues Club, comedy workshops and more. The two famous upstairs venues feature live music & club nights spanning jazz, indie, funk, reggae, hip hop, soul, house, techno, drum & bass and beyond.

Address: 106 High Street, Kings Heath Birmingham, B14 7JZ West Midlands, United Kingdom
