Skinny Living are a UK alt-soul act defined by emotional truth, soaring harmonies and a quietly commanding live presence. With over 90 million global streams and a UK No.1 Independent Album (Day By Day, 2024), they’ve built their audience the long way — through word-of-mouth, relentless touring and an unwavering commitment to creative independence.

Formed after a chance meeting at an open mic night in Wakefield, the band’s foundation rests on connection and craft rather than spectacle. Fronted by Belfast-born Ryan Johnston, whose voice carries both vulnerability and authority, and anchored by Danny Hepworth’s textured guitar work and vocal harmonies, Skinny Living blend soul, indie and contemporary grit into songs that feel intimate yet expansive.

Their sound draws from the lineage of classic soul and singer-songwriter storytelling, but it’s their restraint that defines them. Rather than chase trends, Skinny Living favour depth over noise — writing songs about love, resilience, doubt and redemption with a clarity that cuts through.

On stage, that emotional precision translates into performances that feel unfiltered and deeply human. No theatrics. No excess. Just songs built to hold a room.

After a decade of steady growth and uncompromising evolution, Skinny Living stand as proof that longevity can be earned without surrendering identity — creating music that lingers long after the last note fades.

Bea Maher

Hailing from South London, Bea Maher blends soul, funk and jazz into a sound that is both timeless and unmistakably her own. Inspired by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lianne La Havas and Cleo Sol, her music pairs rich melodies and intricate rhythms with raw, heartfelt storytelling. A BIMM Brighton graduate, Bea has built a reputation for warm, intimate and magnetic live performances, whether solo or with her band. In 2024, she released her debut EP Can’t Love, earning playlist support from Fresh Finds UK and New Music Friday, with Line of Best Fit praising the title track as “contemplative and straight from the soul.” After 33 shows last year, Bea supported Rizzle Kicks on their comeback UK tour, performing at O2 Ritz Manchester, O2 Institute Birmingham, O2 Forum Kentish Town and Brighton Dome, and also supported Dan Whitlam on his UK tour at O2 Institute Birmingham. She has started 2026 with a bang, selling out Folklore Hoxton and releasing her latest single Sleepless Nights, which was championed by Jazz FM’s Tony Minvielle and crowned his Track of the Week. With new music on the way and her next EP in progress, she is one to watch for 2026.
