Winyah is an indie/southern rock band that emerged in early 2023 from a small South Carolina beach town, taking their name from the local Winyah Bay which inspires their music's blend of youthful energy, raw power, and themes of nostalgia. Comprised of Thomas Rowland, Stephen Russell, Robert Buffington Jr., Luke Gordon, and Jacob Riley, the band delivers electrifying guitar solos and soulful vocals. They swiftly gained recognition, sharing stages with acclaimed artists and performing at major festivals like Bonnaroo in 2024 and a Lollapalooza aftershow in 2025. Their debut album, "Lot to Learn," released in February 2025, garnered critical acclaim and over 13 million streams, featuring on Spotify's "Fresh Finds Indie" and Apple Music's "New in Alternative" and "New in Rock" playlists. Winyah also released the "Saugerties Sessions – EP" in July 2025 and embarked on their "We Need A Van Tour" in January 2025, with upcoming singles planned for Fall to Winter 2025 and a sophomore album on the horizon. The band, which has relocated to Nashville, is also scheduled to perform at venues like The 9:30 Club in November 2025.
