The Moss is an alternative and indie rock band, blending surf-rock, modern indie, and '60s blues with influences from reggae and a '90s emo aesthetic. Formed in Oahu, Hawaii, in 2015 by Tyke James (vocals/guitar) and Addison Sharp (guitar), the band later established itself in Salt Lake City, Utah, and now includes Willie Fowler on drums and Caiden Jackson on bass. Known for their exuberant, organic, and catchy sound, their music features fuzzed-out riffs, surf-inspired vibes, and thoughtful storytelling. Their latest endeavors include the release of their new full-length album, "Big Blue Moon," on April 24, 2026. This nine-song collection is rooted in themes of personal freedom, self-confidence, and individuality, featuring singles like "Your Way" and "Devil's Lettuce." The band is also currently undertaking a Spring 2026 headlining tour across the United States, which commenced on April 2, 2026, and is set to conclude on May 16, 2026, at the Kilby Block Party festival. Their 2023 EP, "Insomnia," gained significant traction, with its title track appearing on Spotify's U.S. Viral 50 chart.
