About Sable Hills

Sable Hills is a Japanese metalcore band from Tokyo, formed in September 2015. Their sound is characterized by metalcore, often incorporating elements of melodic metalcore and hardcore punk, with influences from 2000s metalcore acts and even Japanese game music and traditional Japanese music. The band gained international recognition by winning first place in the 2022 Wacken Open Air Metal Battle competition, becoming the first Japanese band to achieve this. They have since performed on the main stages of the legendary German festival and at other major events like Brutal Assault, Knotfest, and their self-produced "FRONTLINE FESTIVAL". Sable Hills signed with the European label Arising Empire at the end of 2023. Their latest album, "Odyssey," was released on July 19th, 2024, and has already surpassed one million streams. Most recently, in September 2025, they released a new single titled "Godforsaken," which features John Henry from the American metal band Darkest Hour.
