About To Obey a Tyrant

To Obey a Tyrant is a British blackened deathcore band from the South Coast of the UK, known for their fusion of deathcore, slam, and symphonic death metal. They craft grisly, story-telling lyrics centered around demonic entities and serpentine events, delivering skull-splitting slam riffs, relentless double bass drums, crushing breakdowns, and eerie, eldritch orchestrations. The band recently signed with Seek and Strike and released their new EP, "Frigore Inferni," on February 21, 2025. This EP, translating to "Freezing Hell," is a narrative of two entities creating a frozen apocalypse on Earth. They premiered the lead single, "Obsidian Sol," along with a music video in January 2025. The title track, "Frigore Inferni," also received a music video release in February 2025. To Obey a Tyrant has garnered millions of streams and shared stages with notable extreme music acts such as Decapitated, Chelsea Grin, and Fit For An Autopsy, and has performed at major UK metal festivals like Bloodstock Open Air and UK Tech-Fest. As of late 2025, they have upcoming tour dates scheduled. The current lineup includes Brandon Singleton on vocals, Josh Rushton and James Meade on guitars, Harvey Hockey on bass, and Bruno Clay on drums, with Clay also handling the recording, mixing, mastering, and reamping of "Frigore Inferni".
