Nino D'Angelo, born Gaetano D'Angelo on June 21, 1957, in Naples, Italy, is a highly acclaimed Italian singer, songwriter, actor, television personality, film director, screenwriter, and author. He is renowned for his contributions to neomelodic pop, folk-pop, canzone napoletana, and romantic ballads. D'Angelo began his musical career in 1977 with his first album, "'A storia mia," and rose from humble beginnings, having worked as an ice cream vendor and wedding singer. Throughout his career, he has released numerous successful albums and singles, and has starred in several films, earning awards for his acting and soundtracks, including a David di Donatello award for the film *Tano da Morire*. He has also served as the artistic director of Naples' Trianon Viviani theater. In his latest endeavors, a documentary titled "Nino. 18 giorni," directed by his son Toni D'Angelo, was presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2025 and is set for cinematic release from November 20, 2025. This documentary intimately chronicles his preparation for a major concert. A new album and live DVD of his "I miei meravigliosi anni 80…e non solo" event, held on June 29, 2024, at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, was released on December 6, 2024. D'Angelo is currently active with upcoming concerts, including dates in Germany and Belgium in October 2025, and an extended "Irgendwann im Leben" tour with ten additional concerts across Germany in February 2026. He is also bringing back his "I miei meravigliosi anni 80…e non solo!" concerts by popular demand. In July 2024, he publicly refuted a false report circulating on YouTube claiming his death.
