Leah Rye learned how to play piano at a young age. Aged fifteen, she started writing her own songs, both as an emotional outlet and as a way of compartmentalizing the world around her. Contrasts are a common theme in her music; light and dark, alone and together are two key themes. The complexity of interpersonal relationships also runs through her music. Her dreamy sound lands somewhere between pop noir and electronica.
