Il Mago Del Gelato is an Italian band consisting of Giovanni Doneda (bassist), Ferruccio Perrone (guitarist), Pietro Gregori (drummer), and Alessandro Paolone (keyboardist), known for their sensual and lively blend of funk, afrobeat, jazz, disco music, and influences from 60s and 70s Italian cinema soundtracks. Formed during the pandemic, the band's name pays homage to a multicultural bar in Milan's Via Padova, which served as a significant source of inspiration. They are recognized for their captivating live performances and their use of the vocoder. The band recently released their debut album, "Chi È Nicola Felpieri?", on March 14, 2025, via Dischi Numero Uno. This album includes collaborations with artists such as Venerus, Le Feste Antonacci, and Mélanie Chedeville. Prior to the album, they released several singles, including "Pandora" (April 2024), "Granturismo" (December 2024), "Tic Tac" (January 2025, with Mélanie Chedeville), and "In Punta Di Piedi" (February 2025, with Le Feste Antonacci). Il Mago Del Gelato was also recognized in Rolling Stone's "Classe 2023" as one of the year's promising acts. Following a successful summer performing at various Italian festivals, the band is currently focused on an autumn club tour across Italy, aiming to deliver a renewed and fresh show for their audience.
