Ricchi E Poveri is an iconic Italian pop group formed in Genoa in 1967, renowned for their distinctive polyphonic vocal style and contributions to Italo dance and Italo disco genres. Originally a quartet, the group currently consists of Angela Brambati and Angelo Sotgiu. They have sold over 20 million records worldwide, making them one of Italy's best-selling musical acts, with hits such as "Sarà perché ti amo," "Mamma Maria," and "Che sarà." In recent endeavors, the original lineup reunited in 2020 to celebrate their 50th anniversary, releasing the double album "Reunion" in 2021, which included a special collaboration with José Feliciano on a new version of "Che Sarà". They competed in the Sanremo Music Festival 2024 with their song "Ma non tutta la vita". In 2023, their enduring hit "Sarà perché ti amo" saw a resurgence in the charts, partly due to its adoption as a chant by AC Milan fans. Ricchi E Poveri toured Australia in 2023 and have a "Tour 2025" planned to continue performing their vast repertoire of successes and recent tracks. In April 2024, a "Music Idols" CD featuring re-recorded hits was released. The duo has also recently shared their views on the evolution of modern music, highlighting the diminishing focus on melody.
