Fleshwater live history: shoegaze
Fleshwater is an American rock band that emerged from Boston in 2017, initially as a side project of members from Vein.fm. Their sound is a powerful fusion of shoegaze, alternative metal, post-hardcore, and soft grunge, often drawing comparisons to bands like Deftones and Hum due to their heavy, atmospheric, and melodic approach. The band features dual vocals from Anthony DiDio and Marisa Shirar, combining crunching riffs with oceanic atmospheres and towering melodies. Fleshwater released their debut full-length album, "We're Not Here To Be Loved," in 2022, which garnered strong reviews and helped them establish their identity beyond their hardcore roots. More recently, they released their sophomore LP, "2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky," on September 5th. The band has been on a steady upward trajectory, having opened for Deftones and The Mars Volta on an arena tour earlier this year. They are also set to embark on a North American co-headline tour with Julie this spring, with support from Midrift, and are scheduled to appear at Coachella on April 10 and April 17, 2026.
