Dvne is a five-piece progressive metal band from Edinburgh, Scotland, known for their captivating blend of sludge metal, progressive metal, stoner metal, doom metal, and post-metal influences. Formed in 2013, the band's name and music are heavily inspired by science fiction and fantasy, particularly Frank Herbert's "Dune". Their sound is characterized by a powerful, evocative atmosphere, combining heavy riffs with dynamic, multi-layered soundscapes, often featuring alternating or overlapping harsh and clean vocals, and intricate synth layers. The band released their third studio album, "Voidkind," on April 19, 2024, via Metal Blade Records. "Voidkind" has received critical acclaim for further solidifying their unique sound, merging post-metal and progressive rock into an expansive and dynamic work. Conceptually, the album continues the band's overarching narrative, following a religious group through generations, with inspiration drawn from works like Dan Simmons' "Hyperion" and the "Dark Souls" video game series. Following the release of "Voidkind," Dvne embarked on extensive headlining tours across the UK and Europe, with many sold-out shows and appearances at major festivals such as Hellfest, ArcTanGent, Desertfest London, Dunk Festival, Mystic Festival, Into the Grave, and Copenhell. They also released a live session recording titled "Live at The Biscuit Factory" in 2025, capturing the raw energy of some "Voidkind" songs in an intimate setting. Dvne has announced a full European tour from May 1st to August 16th, 2025, in support of "Voidkind".
