About Congulus

Congulus is an Istanbul-based band known for its immersive blend of stoner rock, stoner metal, sludge metal, space rock, and doom metal, frequently incorporating Anatolian psychedelic elements into their sound. Formed in the spring of 2016, the trio was initially comprised of Cihan Önder on guitars and synthesizer, Emre Açıkgöz on bass guitar, and Tayfun Gür on drums. Their music is characterized by broad compositions, long drones, fluid riffs, experimental multi-layered themes, and live loops that create a dynamic and hypnotic atmosphere. Their latest endeavor is the album "Göçebe," which was released on April 5, 2024. This album further explores their fusion of Anatolian psychedelic elements with dynamic compositions, transmitting sonic waves through space and searching for messages within it. The current lineup for "Göçebe" includes Cihan Önder (Guitar & Synthesizer), Tayfun Gür (Drums), and Fatih Can Oklay (Bass). Prior to "Göçebe," the band released their 11-track album "Bozkır" in 2018, with a vinyl version featuring two new tracks released in December 2019. The band has expressed desires to organize a tour in Europe to share their journey with international audiences.
