Deafheaven is an American blackgaze band formed in San Francisco in 2010, known for blending black metal, shoegaze, and post-rock into a unique and critically acclaimed sound. The band was initially formed by vocalist George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy. The band's latest endeavor is their sixth studio album, *Lonely People With Power*, which was released on March 28, 2025, through Roadrunner Records. This album signals a return to their heavier, black metal roots, following their more melodic 2021 album, *Infinite Granite*. Leading up to its release, Deafheaven shared singles such as "Magnolia" and "Heathen." In support of the new album, Deafheaven has announced extensive touring plans for 2025, including North American and European dates, with appearances at festivals like Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Rock am Ring, Outbreakfest, and Hellfest. Additionally, a 10th-anniversary remix/remastered reissue of their influential 2013 album *Sunbather* was announced, and the band performed the album in full at ArcTanGent 2023. Vocalist George Clarke has also been involved in the experimental project Alto Arc.
