About Civic Green

Indie rock

Loud, raw, and restless. The kind of noise that sticks to your skin like coal dust. Rising from the forgotten mining towns and villages of South & West Yorkshire, Civic Green came to prominence in 2020 with debut singles "There Is Always A Light" and "City Streets". With unmistakable northern grit, determination, and raw honesty, they quickly carved a name for themselves as one of the UK's most exciting new acts. In 2022, they pushed their sound to new heights with the release of their debut EP, Sailing The River. With its wholesome blend of British indie rock tones and orchestral backing, the EP was hailed as a triumph, with ThisIsTheMusic calling it “one of the best debut E.P’s I’ve ever heard" and Louderthanwar commenting on the E.P closer 'The Writing's On The Wall' “It’s a majestic song, with all the swagger and craft of early Oasis.” The following year marked another milestone: the band played their first stadium show at Oakwell, home of Barnsley FC, before a packed crowd ahead of the Portsmouth match. Later, the club invited them to work on a song for them. The band subsequently penned “My Love, My Town,” an anthem that celebrates and champions working-class communities, further cementing the band’s deep connection to their roots. After a run of acclaimed singles, Civic Green released “Seasons” in August 2025. Hailed as an “instant summer anthem” and a “modern-day classic”. The track reinforced their place as one of the UK’s most vital contemporary bands.
