Gotobeat is thrilled to announce the Edinburgh debut of Thrax Punks on the 25th of September at The Voodoo Rooms.
Thrax Punks began as an exploration of Thrace, Greece’s traditional folk music before the members began to experiment with modern aesthetics and various, fresh musical genres from further afield. Formed of a gaida (bagpipe), davul (drum), and an electric guitar, these modern aesthetics include live looping, mixtures of psychedelic and math rock, thrashy guitars, and a frenetic punk energy. Vice.com described them as having “invented a new genre – Dionysian punk,” while Metalinvader.net praised their music for its timeless quality, stating, “Through their sounds one can travel to older times, stories and emotions, so timeless that past, present and future seem to be one.”
To date, they have played in front of delighted crowds in the UK, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and CyprusTICKETS £15 + 10% ticketing fees / £20 on the door / 18+8:00 pm —> Doors—–> Thrax Punks
