Parachute Words with Cora Rebel and La Nouvelle Musique live at The Finsbury

PARACHUTE WORDS - Openly rejecting the testosterone heavy attitudes of the past, the south London 5 piece band Parachute Words aims to challenge what the idea of an indie rock band is. Through prominently featuring the violin along side their two electric guitar sound the band mixes splashes of indie rock, folk and alternative music in equal measure all the while writing songs about insecurity, gender and anxiety. With this unconventional sound combined with a very strong DIY foundation to everything they do the band shows no signs of slowing down. From booking their own shows, making their own homespun music videos and recording 13 self-recorded albums since 2016, Parachute Words are a passion project through and through. The five members of the group come from all different walks of life bound together by the love of making music and a driven DIY spirit. Founding member Martino Gasparrini sings, plays guitar and is the songwriter, Rosa Fisher plays violin, George Harvey is on guitar, Ralph Heseltine on bass and Lea Francis is on the drums. CORA REBEL - Up and coming indie-pop artist Cora Rebel was seen covered in blood on a cloudless night leaving Regents Park. Eyewitnesses describe the culprit as unapologetic and stronger than ever. A lyrical knife wrapped up in a sing-along chorus and explosive creativity were found at the scene. Being a mixed-media artist, Cora creates all the visual elements to her project herself, using old-school methods and colour inversions of printed art to find the hidden gem on the page; much like in her music. Bringing the digital age onto pen and paper, she is choosing her victim, drawing the rule book and ripping it up. Cora has just released Small Town Murder in February, celebrated with a sold-out headline in Camden. With an exciting suite of shows lined up for the rest of 2025, Cora is one to watch. LA NOUVELLE MUSIQUE - A Psych-Folk duo from London. Poetic, sometimes dark, always up lifting. A sound occasionally reminiscent of Nico and Francois Hardy. Their music is rooted in cinematic psychedelia, with the lush orchestration on some of their songs reflecting a big screen aesthetic. Singer/Bass Player - Joanna Beck is also a composer and performance artist who also creates electroacoustic music, sonic art, and has scored for theatre and film. Guitar - Ian de Sylva - has releases with previous bands through Rough Trade Records and The Medicine Label
