OH BABY - Following on from the success of their two previous EPs plus The Quietus commissioned single ‘Not Enoughʼ with American artist Kelley Stoltz, the duo emerge from studios sessions for their debut LP to play some one-off live dates.
‘We want to let some of these new songs off the collar, and give them a run around the track. Some might work, some might not, but we want to pick up the pace and just see what happensʼ.
Their music is made with the idea of the dancefloor being the end of the journey, with all the emotions and drama that get continually played out on those few square metres. It is a distinctive sound shaped as much by early 80ʼs post-disco as todays DIY Art-Rock bands, or The Pointer Sisters meets Working Mens Club.
FHUR - Italy-born, now London-based FHUR blends dark pop, electronic and industrial elements to create moody tracks that let you explore and release feelings, soak in life, cry on the dancefloor.
CHINA ASTER - Described by BBC Introducing as ‘very fresh and new’, synthy alternative pop band China Aster has been compared to MGMT and Perfume Genius, as well as The Smiths and Ultravox – although the band’s varied influences include John Maus, Pet Shop Boys, Sparks and Kylie Minogue. China Aster comprises Joshua Moore and Oliver Marson (who recently released ‘Blue Dreams’). Their last track ‘Post-production’ took a humanist take on video-editing and was supported by Louder Than War (‘single of the month’), Post-Punk, RGM, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio (Playlist and Amazing Sessions).
