ZHU is an American electronic music producer, DJ, singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, and filmmaker, known for his distinct deep house sound with dark, pop-infused production and ethereal vocals. He initially maintained anonymity after breaking onto the scene in 2014 with his Grammy-nominated hit single "Faded," preferring to let his music speak for itself. His live performances are noted for being interactive experiences that often include live vocals and a full band, going beyond typical DJ sets. In his latest endeavors, ZHU released his fourth album, *GRACE*, in 2024, which he described as an ambitious project accompanied by a film that serves as its soundtrack. This album was inspired by San Francisco's Grace Cathedral, and he released four tracks—"Take My Soul," "Blind Believer," "Devil's Prescription," and "Days Before Grace"—ahead of the full album in September 2023. He also embarked on a supporting "The Grace Tour" that ran through mid-November 2023. ZHU is currently teasing a new musical venture, referred to as "rhino sessions," inspired by a road trip to Roswell, New Mexico, after the Los Angeles fires in early 2025, suggesting a new direction in his sound. He is also scheduled for upcoming performances, including at Ultra Music Festival in March 2026.
