Wim Mertens is a highly prolific Belgian composer, countertenor vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and musicologist, renowned for his distinct contributions to minimalism, new age, and neoclassical genres. Since his debut in 1980, he has released over 70 albums, consistently evolving his style while maintaining a melodic foundation. His work often features unusual instrumentations and his characteristic high-pitched vocals in a self-invented language. In recent endeavors, Mertens released the album *Ranges of Robustness* in June 2024, exploring the concept of robustness through nine compositions, performed with his 21-musician ensemble. He also has a new album titled *As Water is to Fish* set to be released on November 14, 2025. Wim Mertens continues to perform globally, with upcoming concert dates scheduled across Europe in late 2025 and early 2026, including performances in Greece, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
