Woodland grunge Tysk Tysk Task hails from Lowell, Massachusetts, moved by the ebbs and flows of the forest, and the fearsome yet endearing creatures that creep throughout... From beginnings as a duo in 2018, TTT has developed into the heavy quartet it is today, lauded for its harsh distorted guitar tones inspired by Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey and Chelsea Wolfe. The band's grunge inspiration is 1990s influenced, with various news outlets comparing them to The Smashing Pumpkins and Hole. Tysk Tysk Task’s unique sound has been described as shoegaze and psychedelic at times, with high-energy live performances ensconced in vegetation, featuring branches and bramble they bring to decorate the stage. The Boston Globe called TTT's music "ethereal art rock," and Vanyaland labeled the band one of the best acts at 2024's Boston Calling Festival when they opened for Chappell Roan: "Lowell isn’t exactly famous for its flora, but you wouldn’t know it from the way TTT (performed)." TTT was nominated for “Rock Artist of the Year” in both the 2024 and 2025 Boston Music Awards. They were also semi-finalists in the 2023 Boston Rock n' Roll Rumble.
