This Will Destroy You is an American instrumental post-rock band from San Marcos, Texas, formed in 2004. They are recognized for crafting lengthy, atmospheric pieces characterized by layers of effects-laden guitar, dynamic shifts, and elements of shoegaze, ambient, drone, and doom metal, sometimes referred to as "doomgaze". In a significant recent development, founding guitarists Jeremy Galindo and Christopher King announced in August 2024 their decision to pursue separate creative endeavors. Both will continue to tour globally under the This Will Destroy You name, each leading a distinct lineup and performing different material from the band's catalog. They also plan to release new music under separate project names in the future. Jeremy Galindo's lineup, which includes Johnnie McBryde, Nicholas Huft, and Ethan Billips, has announced a 20th-anniversary tour for 2025, playing their debut album 'Young Mountain' in full, and also performing songs from his new project "you, infinite". Galindo, alongside former bassist Raymond Brown, released the debut self-titled album for their electronic-edged post-rock project, "you, infinite," on February 28, 2025. Christopher King's lineup consists of Jesse Kees, Robi Gonzalez, and multi-instrumentalist Masaru Takaku, and he has been performing material from the album 'Tunnel Blanket'. Both iterations of the band have various tour dates scheduled into 2025.
