The Trials of Cato, formed in Beirut and hailing from North Wales and Yorkshire, are a UK-based Celtic and folk band known for their unique sound that blends traditional influences with modern elements. Mark Radcliffe hailed them as "one of the real discoveries on the folk circuit in recent times". Their debut album, Hide and Hair, won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Album in 2019. Their latest album, Gog Magog, was released in the UK and is now available for US audiences and is named after a mythical giant of Arthurian legend and the Cambridgeshire hilltop, where the new album was birthed over lockdown. The band features Polly Bolton on vocals, Robin Jones, and Tomos Williams.
