The Halo Effect is a Swedish melodic death metal supergroup formed by five former members of In Flames: Mikael Stanne (vocals), Niclas Engelin (guitars), Jesper Strömblad (guitars), Peter Iwers (bass), and Daniel Svensson (drums). The band aims to return to the roots of the 1990s "Gothenburg sound" that pioneered the melodic death metal genre. Their debut album, "Days of the Lost," was released on August 12, 2022, via Nuclear Blast Records, achieving chart success across Europe. The Halo Effect has announced their highly anticipated second album, "March of the Unheard," which is set to be released on January 10, 2025, through Nuclear Blast Records. The first single from this upcoming album, "Detonate," was released on September 25, 2024. In support of their new music, the band will embark on their first headline European tour, "Halos Over Europe 2025," in early 2025, with special guests Pain and Bloodred Hourglass. They also have additional tour dates scheduled for Japan and Finland in late 2025.
