Siddhartha, born Jorge Siddhartha González Ibarra, is a prominent Mexican indie-rock musician and singer-songwriter known for his emotional anthems characterized by melancholy, lyrical depth, and a soft, hypnotic voice. His music blends indie messicano, indie latino, latina alternativa, and rock in spagnolo, often incorporating atmospheric synths and luminous guitars. He initially gained recognition as the drummer for the band Zoé before embarking on a successful solo career. Siddhartha's most recent album, "00:00," was released in 2022. In 2023, he released the single "Acapulco" featuring Emmanuel Horvilleur, which earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Rock Song in 2024. He also released the EP "Miel de Azar" in 2024, which was well-received and led to a successful tour that year. In September 2025, Siddhartha unveiled "Tú y Yo y Tú," the first single from his upcoming studio album, which is slated for release in 2026. This new musical era sees him exploring Latin rhythms, flamenco, and Mexican folk elements within his signature style. He is also expected to release two more singles, "Abrázame" in November 2025 and "Escápate" in early 2026, as precursors to the full album. Siddhartha has upcoming tour dates scheduled for 2026, including performances in Mexico and Prague.
