She Keeps Bees is a Brooklyn-based indie rock duo formed in 2006, comprised of Jessica Larrabee on vocals and guitar and Andy LaPlant on drums and production. Known for their raw, stripped-down, and bluesy sound, they often draw comparisons to artists such as Cat Power, PJ Harvey, and The White Stripes. Their music features Larrabee's powerful and emotive vocals alongside LaPlant's dynamic drumming, frequently incorporating a lo-fi, retro aesthetic. Their last album, "Kinship," was released in 2019, showcasing an evolution to include more electronics, organ, keyboards, and strings. In recent endeavors, their 2014 album "Eight Houses" is scheduled for a special limited edition vinyl reissue on December 13, 2024, which will include an exclusive interview podcast. The duo also has upcoming concert dates scheduled into 2025 and 2026, with performances alongside artists like Sharon Van Etten.
