Ringlets is an Auckland, Aotearoa (New Zealand) based post-punk four-piece band known for their tense yet melodic art rock sound, blending wiry, off-kilter instrumentation with narrative surrealism and a restless theatricality. The band comprises Leith Towers on vocals, László Reynolds on guitar and synth, Arabella Poulsen on bass, and Arlo Grey on drums. They emerged in 2021 and quickly gained a reputation for their distinct blend of wit, grit, and sonic technicality. In 2023, Ringlets released their self-titled debut album under the Mutual Skies label. Their latest endeavor is their second album, "The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies)," which was released in 2025 as their debut on Flying Nun Records. Following its release, the band embarked on a tour in early August 2025. Ringlets are also slated to perform at the Arctangent Festival in 2026. Their music is described as thoughtful post-punk with elements of new wave, ranging from vibrantly bright to ragingly angry, characterized by energetic and articulate performances.
