Rapture 4D is a Glasgow producer/DJ at the forefront of instrumental grime, blending 8-bar minimalism, dubstep weight and sci-fi textures into precision-built, system-ready dubs. His work has earned support from Fred again.., Slimzee, Sir Spyro and Plastician. A former Beatboss winner, they have built a heavyweight catalogue across labels including Terrorhythm, Scotch Bonnet Records, Slimzos Recordings and Astral Black. Early backing from Red Bull Music Academy, BBC Radio 1 + 1xtra, LVLZ Radio and Rinse FM established him as part of a new wave reshaping grime’s instrumental edge, with DJ Mag highlighting them as one of the genre’s key contemporary voices. Their productions fuse classic eski frameworks with jungle-inflected rhythms, cold synth work and spacious low end. Releases such as Lambert & Yoker, the Nebula EP (with RUDA), Gang Green Riddim and Ray Gun move fluidly between grime, dubstep and wider bass mutations while staying rooted in 140. Beyond solo work, he has collaborated MCs including P Money, Manga Saint Hilare and Killa P alongside producers such as Plastician, Spooky and more. He has performed across Europe and the US at platforms including Boiler Room, Eskimo Dance and Fabric on lineups alongside Wiley, AJ Tracey, D Double E, Sir Spyro, Mungos Hi-Fi and more. Also the founder of label PLASMA, they have had their hand in the shaping of a new wave of experimental 140 neo-grime rooted in futuristic sound design and bass-weight innovation.
