Patoranking is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter known for his vibrant fusion of afrobeats, reggae, and dancehall, often incorporating elements of afropop, azonto, hiplife, and bongo flava. Born Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, he emerged from Lagos and gained prominence for his energetic sound and uplifting messages, drawing influences from artists like Bob Marley and Fela Kuti. His music frequently addresses socio-political issues and tells a story of rising "from nothing to something." In his latest endeavors, Patoranking recently graduated from Harvard Business School. He kicked off his 2026 campaign with the release of "African Soldier," a powerful roots reggae offering featuring GRAMMY Award-winning dancehall legend Buju Banton, which serves as the second single from his forthcoming fifth studio album. Additionally, he released the single "No Jonze" in October 2025, reviving the galala sound, and "Joy Everywhere" in March 2026, featuring Rudeboy and Camilo. Beyond music, Patoranking is the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Goodwill Ambassador for Africa and runs the Patoranking Foundation, which has impacted over 5,000 young people and awarded numerous scholarships, championing youth innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development goals.
