About Oathbreaker

Oathbreaker is a Belgian metal band from Ghent, formed in 2008 and currently signed to Deathwish Inc.. The band is known for its eclectic and evolving musical style, incorporating elements of black metal, mathcore, and sludge metal, alongside post-hardcore, post-metal, and even shoegaze. Their sound is characterized by the dynamic vocals of Caro Tanghe, who performs both screamed and sung passages, and the intricate guitar work of Lennart Bossu and Gilles Demolder. Oathbreaker is also part of the Church of Ra, an artistic collective. Following a self-titled EP, the band has released three studio albums: *Mælstrøm* (2011), *Eros|Anteros* (2013), and their critically acclaimed *Rheia* (2016). Regarding their latest endeavors, Oathbreaker is slated to perform at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands, from April 16-19, 2026, where they will play their album *Rheia* in its entirety. The band is currently on an indefinite hiatus.
