About NAFTA

Indie latino

NAFTA is an innovative Argentine musical group that blends neo-soul, alternative hip-hop, funk, and R&B into a unique "indie latino" sound, deeply rooted in Buenos Aires' vibrant music scene. Formed in 2016, this ten-piece ensemble creates a rich, layered texture with soulful melodies, rhythmic versatility, and a seamless fusion of contemporary and traditional Latin sounds, often featuring prominent strings, percussion, brass, and electronic elements. The band's name, NAFTA, means "fuel" or "gasoline" in Argentinian Spanish, reflecting their creative energy. Their latest endeavors include the release of their second album, "NAFTA II," in 2023, which showcases increased musical maturity and was accompanied by a film. The group also performed at Lollapalooza Argentina in 2023 and achieved a significant milestone by presenting their second album at the Luna Park in November 2023. They have also released an album titled "En Algun Lugar + Ilusion" featuring vocalists Abril Olivera and An Espil. While their YouTube channel features live performances from major venues like Luna Park and Gran Rex, current tour schedules for 2026 show no upcoming concerts listed, though past concert dates like one in Rosario in June 2025 are noted.
