María Dueñas is a Spanish classical violinist and composer, widely recognized for her captivating performances, technical mastery, and mature artistic interpretations. Born in Granada in 2002, she has rapidly risen to international prominence, securing an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon in 2022. Dueñas' debut album, "Beethoven and Beyond," released in 2023, featured her own cadenzas for Beethoven's violin concerto and earned her the prestigious Opus Klassik award for Young Artist of the Year in 2024. Her second Deutsche Grammophon album, released in February 2025, is an ambitious project centered on Paganini's legendary 24 Caprices, along with works inspired by Paganini from other composers. This album, "Paganini: 24 Caprices," won her the Instrumental Award and she was also named Young Artist of the Year at the 2025 Gramophone Classical Music Awards. Her recent endeavors include numerous concert engagements across the globe. She has upcoming performances scheduled for October and November 2025 in cities such as Leipzig, Valencia, Madrid, Zaragoza, Ferrara, and Berlin. Dueñas is also a multifaceted artist who composes, having written cadenzas for Mozart's violin concertos, a solo piano piece titled "Farewell," and a solo violin piece called "Homage 1770". She also played the role of Kathleen Parlow in the film "Measures for a Funeral". Her collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the world premiere of Gabriela Ortiz's violin concerto "Altar de Cuerda" earned three GRAMMY Awards in 2025.
