Los Cafres is a pioneering Argentine reggae band formed in 1987 in Buenos Aires. They are recognized for being the first group to perform roots reggae in Spanish, blending elements of reggae, roots reggae, rock argentino, rock en español, Latin rock, ska, jazz, and dub into their distinctive smooth and soulful sound. Led by vocalist Guillermo Bonetto, the band has released over 14 albums, with several achieving Gold status. Their discography includes notable works such as "Frecuencia Cafre" (1994), "Instinto" (1995), and "Hoy 3Décadas Volume 1" (2019). In recent endeavors, Los Cafres embarked on a US tour in August 2024, with performances in cities including Houston, Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Oakland, Fresno, and Los Angeles. They also have upcoming concerts scheduled in Spain for March and June 2026, and in Argentina and Mexico in 2025. In August 2024, they performed in Lima, Peru. After a temporary hiatus in late 2021 due to a band member's health issues, Los Cafres returned to performing in October 2022. The band is also preparing a new album with fresh songs, anticipated for release in late 2025, with "Viento" serving as the first preview. Additionally, they released the official video for their song "Las Preguntas" in September 2025.
