Kevin Olusola is a multi-talented American singer-songwriter, beatboxer, and cellist, best known as the beatboxer for the Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix. He is recognized for pioneering "celloboxing," a unique style that combines playing the cello with beatboxing, effectively blending classical music with hip-hop, R&B, and pop. His latest endeavor is the release of his debut solo album, "Dawn of a Misfit," which came out on May 9, 2025, through Sony Music Masterworks. The album explores themes of identity, resilience, spirituality, and being a first-generation individual, featuring a fusion of classical, pop, R&B, and hip-hop, including the lead single "Dark Winter." Olusola recently discussed his "celloboxing" and new album during an appearance on "The Jennifer Hudson Show". He envisions a future of continued innovation and mentoring emerging artists.
