Joshua Idehen is a British-Nigerian poet and musician based in Sweden, renowned for his spoken word artistry that seamlessly blends poetry with music, often incorporating house-inflected beats and choral flourishes. His work is celebrated for its emotional and intellectual depth, exploring themes of hope, self-worth, collective resilience, mental health, and redemption, always aiming to point towards light. On stage, Idehen is known for his compelling presence, delivering powerful performances that oscillate between tenderness and ferocity. In his latest endeavors, Joshua Idehen is set to release his debut Heavenly album, 'I Know You're Hurting, Everyone Is Hurting, Everyone Is Trying, You Have Got To Try,' on Friday, March 6, 2026. He has already shared the first single from the album, 'It Always Was,' accompanied by a split-screen video. Idehen recently appeared on Later…with Jools Holland and has been actively touring, headlining sold-out shows at London's Jazz Café, and performing at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Green Man. He has also announced a headline UK & EU tour for spring 2026 and a series of support dates with Baxter Dury later in 2025. His poignant and witty piece, "Mum Does the Washing," gained viral success, was released as a 2024 EP, and was shortlisted for the 2025 Forward Prize. Additionally, his collected works, "Songbook," was released in October 2024.
