Gen and the Degenerates are an alternative punk rock band known for their queercore and riot grrrl influences, combining raw aggression and anthemic hooks with socially critical messages and a distinctive sense of humor. Their sound has been described as rebellious, energetic, and danceable, featuring witty observations on navigating modern life. They released their debut album, "ANTI-FUN PROPAGANDA," in February 2024, which tackles heavy subjects like sexuality, gender politics, and the challenges of being human, often with an absurd and fun approach. In June 2025, the band unveiled a new single, "Wahoo," marking a new era and a refreshed sound after a lineup change, now performing as a trio. "Wahoo" was inspired by personal loss and mental health struggles. They also played charity shows for the Malala Fund in September 2025 and have upcoming tour dates in February, April, and May 2026.
