About Femegades

Femegades is a London-based feminist punk band known for blending riot grrrl, queercore, alt-rock, and grunge into a powerful and socially conscious sound. Their music features catchy vocals and energetic punk rhythms, often tackling themes of male violence against women, consent, body image pressures, and the realities of motherhood. The band has been active with several releases, including their debut EP "Pornsick" (2021) and "not all men" (2022). Their latest endeavor is the EP "Sex Robots," released on June 6, 2024. This concept album explores a dystopian future where women are seen as objects, addressing male entitlement and the pressures women face. Singles from the EP, such as "Broken Bones," "What Is Yours Is Mine," "No Sex Robots," "Toolish," and "Depleted," delve into topics like challenging over-medicalization, unwanted male attention, and unrealistic post-childbirth body image expectations. Femegades continue to play live, with an acoustic show scheduled for January 9, 2025, in London.
