Editors are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 2002, known for their sound rooted in indie rock, post-punk revival, alternative rock, and dark wave. Their seventh studio album, "EBM," released in September 2022, saw the band delve into electro-industrial and electronic rock sounds, marking a new chapter in their musical evolution. The band embarked on a UK tour in early 2024 to support "EBM." In addition to the band's activities, lead vocalist Tom Smith is preparing to release his debut solo album, "There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn't There In The Light," on December 5, 2025, from which he has already released singles like "Lights Of New York City" and "Broken Time." There have also been recent hints from the band of exciting news regarding new music and tours, suggesting that an eighth Editors album might be in the works.
