coldrain is a Japanese metalcore and alternative metal band formed in Nagoya in 2007, known for combining heavy, aggressive instrumentation and powerful English-language vocals with melodic hooks that frequently cross over into anime themes and global rock charts. Continuing their international momentum following releases like *Nonnegative* and the anime-featured single "Vengeance," the band recently signed with Century Media Records and released their EP *Optimize*. They are currently gearing up for the release of their eighth full-length album, *Optimize = Optdemise*, set for September 2026, alongside supporting acts on international tours and upcoming festival appearances.
