Cardinals are an Irish indie rock quintet from Cork, known for their distinctive sound that blends strident indie rock with folk-tinged textures, featuring discordant guitars, accordions, and vulnerable vocals. This Cork-based band, comprising brothers Euan and Finn Manning, their cousin Darragh Manning, and former schoolmates Oskar Gudinovic and Aaron Hurley, has garnered attention for their genre-defying approach and intense live performances. Their latest endeavor is the release of their highly anticipated debut album, 'Masquerade', which launched on February 13, 2026, via So Young Records. The album was recorded at RAK Studios in London with producer Shrink. Leading up to the album's release, Cardinals shared several singles, including "'I Like You'", "'The Burning Of Cork'", and "'Big Empty Heart'". The band has been extensively touring, with recent and upcoming dates including a US tour in May 2026, featuring an appearance at Salt Lake City's Kilby Block Party, and previous tours across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. They have also supported notable acts like Fontaines D.C.. Cardinals have been recognized as a rising force in music, included in Hotpress's "Hot For 2025" and DIY's "Class of 2026".
