About Bloody Tyrant

Bloody Tyrant is a Taiwanese band that blends folk metal with elements of black metal, melodic death metal, symphonic black metal, and Chinese rock, often incorporating traditional instruments like the pipa and erhu to tell stories of Taiwanese mythology and history, particularly focusing on the Sun-Moon Lake region. Formed in late 2009, the band has evolved from an extreme black metal sound to a more prominent folk metal style, known for their melodic and technical arrangements. In recent years, Bloody Tyrant has continued to be active, releasing a new music video for a single in April 2022 after a significant lineup change. They also embarked on a European tour in June 2022. Their fifth full-length album, "Myths of the Islands," which delves into Taiwanese aboriginal mythologies, saw a limited edition vinyl release in December 2020 after its initial streaming release. The band also has an album titled "HAISEN MONOGATARI" from 2024, and released a "One Take Live Session" on YouTube in July 2025.
