Blaqbonez, (born Emeka Akumefule Chukwuemeka George on January 29th in Lagos, Nigeria) is a pioneering force in Nigerian hip-hop. Beginning his lyrical journey at age 13, he cut his teeth in the underground scene while attending Obafemi Awolowo University. Recognized for his raw talent and undeniable charisma, Blaqbonez caught the attention of music mogul M.I Abaga. This resulted in him signing with Chocolate City's 100 Crowns imprint, leading to the release of his debut album, "Bad Boy Blaq". Subsequent projects like the chart-topping EP "Mr Boombastic" and the critically acclaimed album "Sex Over Love" showcased Blaqbonez's versatility and artistic growth. In 2021, he secured a spot on Rolling Stone's Top Albums of 2021 list. His tracks "BBC" and "Shut Up" featured on Showtime's "Flatbush Misdemeanors." Blaqbonez's impact extends beyond music. He sold out a 4,000-capacity venue for his "Breaking the Yoke of Love '' concert, demonstrating his immense popularity. His 2023 album Emeka Must Shine with its seamless collaborations with a range of artists like Amaarae, Ludacris, Zlatan, ODUMODUBLVCK, Lojay, Blxckie and his consistent hard work has garnered multiple Headies nominations and a coveted endorsement from Guinness Nigeria.
