Teatro Lara, inaugurated on September 3, 1880, is a historic and architecturally beautiful theatre located in the Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid. Known as 'la bombonera de Don Cándido' due to its charming French-inspired façade, it offers a diverse program including theatre, musicals, children's shows, concerts, and dance performances. It features two halls: the main Sala Cándido Lara with 464 seats and the smaller Sala Lola Membrives with 120 seats, which hosts more unconventional performances. After periods of closure, it was reopened in 1994 and its programming has been revamped since 2008 to offer quality commercial performances.
