Islington Assembly Hall is a Grade II listed live music venue and events space located on Upper Street, Islington, London. Originally opened in March 1930 with many Art Deco features, it became a popular venue for dances, variety shows, awards presentations, tea dances, and weddings. It closed in the mid-1980s and was used for storage for almost three decades before Islington Council funded its refurbishment. Reopening in March 2010, the venue now boasts a capacity of up to 950 for live events, including seating for 218 in its balcony. It is known for its stunning Art Deco interior, recently upgraded sound and lighting systems, and its flexibility to host a diverse range of events beyond music concerts, such as public meetings, wedding fairs, and corporate functions.
