The Aquitània Teatre, located on Avinguda de Sarrià, is a theatre space with a rich history. It originally opened as Cine Infanta in 1945, then became Cine Aquitania in 1969, and served as the home of the Filmoteca de la Generalitat de Catalunya from 1991 to 2011. After a period of closure, it reopened as a live theatre in 2013. Currently managed by Artisteando Barcelona, the theatre underwent a comprehensive renovation and launched a renewed production line, focusing on quality theatre, contemporary Catalan dramaturgy, and young creation. It is known for its artistic charm, excellent performances, and aims to be a platform for successful smaller-format productions to reach a wider audience.
