The Adelphi Theatre is co-owned with the Nederlander Group. The Adelphi Theatre has stood on the Strand for more than 200 years. First opened in 1806 as the Sans Pareil, the theatre was renamed the Adelphi in 1819 and has occupied the same site ever since, making it one of London’s most historic theatres. Over the years, the Adelphi has been rebuilt and redesigned several times, evolving alongside the changing face of British theatre. The current building dates from 1930 and was designed by architect Ernest Schaufelberg. Its beautiful Art Deco features remain an important part of the theatre’s character today.
